Nscale and Anthropic Reportedly in Talks for $45 Billion Cloud Computing Deal

According to sources, AI cloud computing company Nscale is in talks to sell computing power to Anthropic, with the potential deal valued at around $45 billion.

Insiders revealed that Nscale, a data center developer backed by Nvidia (US.NVDA), is seeking to secure a second major agreement with Anthropic, involving the second facility at its Monarch data center campus in West Virginia. Regulatory filings show that Anthropic previously entered into an infrastructure agreement with Nscale worth up to approximately $44.6 billion.

The second Monarch facility will utilize Nvidia's advanced Vera Rubin AI chips, providing 460 megawatts of computing capacity. Anthropic also holds a right of first refusal for the planned third Monarch facility.

The two parties could finalize the agreement as early as within the coming days. Discussions are still ongoing, details of the plans could change, and no final decision has been made. Representatives from Anthropic and Nscale declined to comment. (rc)
