[ET Net News Agency, 20 October 2026] The Hang Seng Index opened 196 points lower today at 23,990. It reached a high of 24,035, down 151 points, and a low of 23,846, down 339 points. The Hang Seng Index closed down 319 points, or 1.3%, at 23,867.
Southbound funds recorded a net outflow of HK$1.72b for the full day, decreased by 51.7%. The top stocks by net Southbound buying were TENCENT (00700), CNOOC (00883) and MINIMAX-W (00100) in that order. The top stocks by net selling were LENOVO GROUP (00992), SMIC (00981) and BABA-W (09988) in that order.
Mainboard turnover increased by 6.9% to nearly HK$190.45b. Among this, Stock Connect turnover exceeded HK$76.5b, accounting for 40.2% of the total turnover.
