EEToday News Service reported on the 15th that data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on Wednesday (14th) showed that since Trump began his second presidential term, the average real wages of Americans have not increased.
The data on Wednesday showed that from January 2025 to September 2026, both prices and average hourly wages rose by approximately 5.4%. The data also showed that real average hourly earnings declined by 0.5% from August to September, as recent surges in energy prices pushed inflation higher, once again eroding the nominal wage gains for the month.
Trump had promised to lower prices during his campaign, but many Americans said prices soared after the U.S. launched strikes against Iran earlier this year, placing enormous pressure on the public. (rc)
